Welcome to Media Studies

The Media Crew would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Year 10 class for 2017/18.
 

We are so glad you have decided to study media at GCSE and are really looking forward to working with you. We can guarantee that you won't be disappointed with the course that we have to offer you this year!

All specifications starting in September are brand new and we have decided to follow the WJEC Eduqas syllabus. Some of the topics we will be covering in Year 10 include:

• Advertising & Magazines (Set texts - Quality Street, This Girl Can, GQ & Pride) 
• Film industry and marketing (Set texts - The James Bond Franchise) 
• Music Videos (Set texts - Katy Perry, Bruno Mars & Michael Jackson)
• Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) - Music Videos or Websites

We will also be looking to develop your practical skills through a series of mini-projects which will help prepare you for the Non-Examined Assessment that we will start in the summer term.
